Tanner Labs has developed an innovative architecture and
training system that yields an isolated-word speech recognition
system that is significantly more robust to background noise
than any currently available commercial system. For example,
the above data was obtained by adding tank noise (provided
by the Rice
University Signal Processing Information Base) to the
Texas
Instruments TI46 corpus. We are currently expanding this
system to recognize continuous speech.
