Tanner Labs has developed a powerful reconfigurable computer
for neural network simulation and development. To maximize
flexibility, we implemented a modular design: five daughtercards,
each with two FPGAs, are mounted on a motherboard that has
a PCI interface to a personal computer. We developed a highly
connected topology so that the ten FPGAs effectively function
as a single, large FPGA, and we selected the most powerful
FPGAs currently on the market.
