Design Kits Overview

Low-cost, quick turn-around ASIC prototyping has been a key element in electronic design. However, maintaining support resources such as design kits and libraries, especially those needed to interface with state-of-the-art prototype and foundry services, is a continual struggle for most designers.

Tanner EDA offers complete mixed-signal IC design kits for several foundries and process technologies. New libraries will be added to the design kit as they become available. Foundries include:

• TSMC Mixed-Signal IC Design Kits
  Available for 0.18um, 0.25um or 0.35um process
• AMIS Mixed-Signal IC Design Kits
  Available for 0.5um or 1.5um process
• MOSIS SCMOS Mixed-Signal IC Design Kits
  All MOSIS SCMOS Mixed-Signal IC Design Kits include support for the following MOSIS process: AMIS 0.5um and 1.5um, HP 0.5um, and TSMC 0.18um, 0.25um and 0.35um processes.
• Digital Standard Cell Library
• High ESD I/O Pad Libraries
• Synopsis Simulation/Synthesis Library Interface
• Exemplary Simulation/Synthesis Library Interface
• SchemLib: Technology Independent Mapping Library
• DAC—ADC Cell Libraries
• Linear Cell Libraries

A complete design kit consists of the following components:

• Technology Setup Libraries Layer Definitions, Design Rules, Extract Definitions
• Digital Libraries Digital Standard Cells High ESD I/O Pads Synthesis Libraries—Native Design Kits only
• Analog Libraries Amplifiers, Comparators, Switches, etc Successive Approximation A/D-D/A Converters
